Warren County Seeks To Block Aides Secrecy
Warren County commissioners moved to end a practice of labeling fees as trade secrets and appealed to the county court for a ruling on the county auditor's report for the year ending January 4, 1900. The report allowed settlements of accounts receivable for former Prothonotary Ralph E. Sires and current Register and Recorder Gurney R. Ball. The commissioners also asked whether the county should have collected fees on land tax sales from former County Treasurer Robert L. Ruehle. The long-standing pattern had allowed offices to accumulate receivables shared with attorneys, with the county typically missing its share as terms expired.
