Whalen Sentenced Five Years For Theft Outside Bank
Thomas Whalen Jr of Brie received a five year term at the Western penitentiary for stealing 60 cents from W. F. Glick after a robbery conviction. Judge William E. Hirt imposed a sentence ranging from five to ten years on Monday morning. Whalen allegedly held up Glick and obtained 60 cents.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Smock wife of Rev T J Smock of GenevaPa formerly of Corry will be held at Advent Christian Church in Geneva Wednesday at 2 30 PM She died Sunday at 5 55 PM after eight years of ill health following a stroke She was an invalid for several years and Rev and Mrs Smock were well known in Corry where Rev Sinpex served as pastor of the Local Advent Christian Church.

Young auto victim Kent slowly recovering at hospital
Kent, six, is in Haro City hospital after a pedestrian auto accident Friday night. He has a broken leg, body bruises, and scalp lacerations from a car driven by Reverend S Newsom, pastor, while playing ball with his brother near Watts Pure. He shows slight improvement after a rough night.

United Press reports Roland P. Levidson professor of philosophy at the University of Maine was found after nearly 48 hours missing in the woods near Aurora Maine. He emerged unharmed and quipped its great to be bad while thanking the posse involved in the hunt. He is son of Salmon Oliver Levinson a Chicago lawyer.
