Work begins on Columbus avenue road improvement project
A ten man crew started today on the East Columbus avenue stretch from the Hare Creek bridge to the Warren county line. Baldwin Brothers Construction Company of Cleveland has the contract. A carload of machinery and pipe arrived yesterday and more equipment is en route. State Highway Department engineers surveyed East Main street for resurfacing and a new concrete highway from Shady avenue to the city line. Bids for the project are expected soon.

Lindbergh kidnap case widens as suspect named
By DELOS SMITH United Press staff correspondent Hopewell New Jersey May 17 a 676 man whose name is either witktown or unrevealed is being probed in connection with the Lindbergh kidnapping and murder. The Bronx County grand jury in New York opened hearings on $50 000 payments to alleged kidnapers. Dr John F Condon known as Jafsie testified along with Col Henry Breckinridge and others while police sought a Scandinavian suspect and coast guard crews traced a fishing schooner tied to Curtis and Condon negotiations in Virginia waters. The search centers on whether the man who dealt with Condon and Curtis was the killer or had contact with the kidnapers.
