Denenberg Gains Backing in Two Western PA Cities
Herbert Denenberg, kandidating for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination, draws endorsements in New Castle and Sharon, pausing a walking tour that boosts his claim to lead or gain on rival Pittsburgh Mayor Peter Flaherty. Local officials note Flaherty’s absence hurts his standing while Mercer County party leaders predict Denenberg could win despite Flaherty’s name recognition. Denenberg urges voters to credit his prior insurance commission tenure as qualification for Senate.
