Opening Of The Helen Shoppe Marks Twelve Years Progress
The new Helen Shoppe opens tomorrow morning in the Alexander block on North Center Street marking the peak of Miss Helen Jones’s twelve years of home owned enterprise. Jones, a Corry High School and Warren Business College graduate, built a high class infants line and ladies lingerie focusing on toys for tots and built a regional mecca for mothers. The Pittsburgh firm Morrison and Associates planned the layout while War Production Board approval enabled construction in the Alexander building which now houses a large display front and updated fixtures.
