The program featured the High School Instrumental Quartette and vocal numbers by James W Wright. Join Walraven was elected to the club and Allen Obert attended as a guest from Delta Colorado. J W Olds returned after a western trip.
Local Memorial Day program planners from Lieut A W Thompson Post VFW met at the club house on West Washington. The VFW band from Jamestown will play at City Park ceremonies and remain afterward for music. Rev Roger Creasey of First Presbyterian will deliver the invocation and Ray Graves of St Thomas will give the benediction. The exercises will follow a procession similar to prior years.
Wild rumors circulated in police circles when chief prosecution witness Ralph Hoffman failed to reach Erie court on time for his trial on larceny charges. Sawyer and accomplices Hoffman and Harry Stufflebeam faced the hold-up claim. Stufflebeam pled guilty earlier and was sent to the Western penitentiary, while Hoffman later retracted his confession and stood trial.
