Lexinton May 18 Ed Cal lahon a feudist shot in Crockettaville died of wounds at Witherspoon Hospital Bucknorn Brentsite county. He was wounded when a hillside volley felled him as he tried to close his store. A prior shooting occurred last July. Bloodhounds failed to locate the assailant. Disturbances in the anthracite region persist with a boy killed in miner police fighting. Merlean rebel moves toward the South stalled in several engagements. Orozco forces retreating.

At Canejos Meje May 18 a 5000 strong federal force under General Hearto clashed with 5000 rebels led by General Orozco. After hours of fighting, nearly 500 were killed or wounded on both sides. Rebels abandoned 19 cannons and ammunition. General Tracy Aubert was reported wounded. Federals claim the rebels are surrounded and anticipate decisive outcomes tomorrow. General Huerta receives telegrams of congratulations.
The rebels plan a final resistance at Escalon 14 miles away where fortifications have been dug along trenches in recent fortnights. A Boston slaying case returns Richeson to justice after sentencing. Governor Foss taps three assistants to study mental health conditions. A Washington dispatch cites Republican senators’ plan to report substitute measures for sugar and wood bills.
