The Corry Area Council for Exceptional Children held a tureen dinner in the YMCA all purpose room with Joyce McKnight speaking on volunteers in the Halfway House and Cancer for Youth. Rev. John Lucas delivered the invocation and benediction as Bicentennial themed decorations and favors were arranged by the Adult Workshop at the Barber Center.
Westminster Circle of the First Presbyterian Church met at Miss Marion Smith’s home to plan a father and son banquet on May 15 and a medical missions tea on June 2, with open house at the Titusville Presbyterian Home on June 27. Covenant Circle, Epsilon Phi, and Newcomers Club installed officers and prepared for Mother Daughter events and social gatherings. The First Presbyterian Church will hold the annual father and son banquet May 15 at 6 pm.
Plans advance for the Corry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary spring bazaar on Saturday May 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the State Armory East Washington Street. Co chairs Ruth Joyce and Helen Downs lead numerous booth chiefs including Evelyn Millspaw in Chinese Auction Mamie Smith and Mary Fogle in food and Marie Roche with Douko Kensinger for the photo booth. The grand award is a Shirlcraft Betsey Ross rug available at The Reed Shop for 1.25 a ticket. Helpers and volunteers are urged to contact respective booth chairs and report to the Armory by 9:30 a.m. Friday to set up.
Corry Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club members and guests enjoyed a five table Howell session at the YMCA. Winners included Mrs. John Pierce and Mrs. T. H. Treat with 67 percent, Mrs. Richard Muckinhaupt and Mrs. Horton Davis 67, Mrs. Arthur Hansen and Mrs. Sarah Davidson 63, F. H. Bartholme and partner 60, and Elsie McClintock with Paul Stroup 59. Next session is Tuesday at 1 pm. all local bridge players invited. Reservations not required but appreciated through Mrs. F. H. Bartholme, Union City, 438-8119.
