Field House Debate Sours as School Panel Rejects Plan

A Joint Committee rejected the field house proposal amid political tallying within the Corry Area Joint School Building Authority. McKnight’s math suggested a no vote would prevail on the 12 member board, given four Corry members on the Joint Committee favored no, while only limited yes support could be cobbled from Corry and Spring Creek. Ott urged that the $40,000 field house is small next to $200,000 already spent on the athletic field, but tax concerns and the 30 to 80 mill tax increase swayed the body against financing the project.
