Bulow Removed as Schmeling Manager in New York
Arthur Bulow, who brought Max Schmeling to the United States, is temporarily removed as Schmeling’s manager by the New York State Athletic Commission. The commission voided a ruling requiring Bulow to approve all bouts and allowed Schmeling to sign his own contracts for the milk fund match with Paolino Uzendo on June 27 at Yankee Stadium. The dispute arose when Bulow pressed for Schmeling to receive 25 percent, with charity allocations set at 25 percent for each boxer and 20 percent for another party.
