In Macon Maine on May 6 Senator Bronson Cutting of New Mexico and at least three others were killed when a transport plane crashed near the city. Among nine injured, Paul Wing of Hollywood, Paramount Pictures unit manager, was reported fatally injured with chest crushed. In Bain Dirgo California an inquest is ordered to determine the cause of a fatal auto wreck on La Pasta Gorge highway. Four died including junior Durkin and John L. Coogan Sr. survivor Tackie in hospital after the car plunged 40 feet. Victims include Robert Harner writer actor and Charles Tones ranch foreman. Jackie Coogan Sr's son said a row hog caused the crash as an oncoming car swerved into their lane.
New York May 6 The American Petroleum Institute representing the 42 billion dollar industry petitioned Congress to curb government control of laws and rules.
In Pittsburgh on May 6 Judge McVicar refused Riversi 6 Cleveland the petition for an injunction to restrain the Amalgamated Association of Iron Steel and Tin Workers from expeting the Joule from the union.
