Area Dairymen Inspect New Milk Plant In Clymer
Area dairymen and neighbors attended an open house as a new bulk reloading milk plant in Clymer began operation. The plant allows one worker to perform tasks previously done by two to four people, with milk delivered directly from farms in 2000 gallon tanks and cooled to 36 degrees, then sent to distant markets in larger 4000 to 5000 gallon trucks. Readiness to handle farm bulk shipments is noted, with 4,000 gallons processed daily and potential efficiency gains. Local co-op members from Clymer and French Creek hosted the event, awarding various prizes and recognizing contributors.
