Governor Pinchot explains milk control gains for Pennsylvania farmers

The Milk Control Board will raise Pennsylvania dairy incomes by about 6 million dollars annually by diverting funds from the Milk Trust to producers. Pinchot argues the board ends the basic surplus plan, reducing farmer reliance on low prices, while keeping consumer prices stable. He cites Department of Agriculture data showing state deficits in milk production versus consumption and notes board prices largely benefit farmers, not consumers, except where dealer price wars persist. The board is composed of experienced dairy figures and aims for a fair, stabilized industry, though Pinchot concedes it is not infallible.
