President authorizes disarming in Colorado strike zone

United Press dispatch reports the President grants full authority to disarm all forces in Colorado strike zone after a long meeting with Secretary Garrison. May Party Dances At Minestar Armory In Corry

Beautifully arranged May Party at the Minestar Armory in Corry celebrated spring with lavish decorations, a varied program, and a large turnout. The Keystone Club performed, Kaster’s orchestra provided live music, Victrola selections filled the evening, and a midnight buffet followed dancing lasting until dawn. Attendees included Charla Playford of Titusville and several out of town guests.

Rescue Efforts Continue After West Virginia Mine Disaster

In Healus West Virginia on May 2 rescue parties recovered more bodies from Mine No. 6 after an explosion. Suffragists Demonstrate in New York Chicago and Pittsburg

United Press reports suffragists staged a great day with a New York parade along Washington Square and a large citywide turnout. About two hundred eighty volunteers joined the event as speakers addressed crowds. In Chicago a monster demonstration occurred while Pittsburg saw anti suffragists appear but the movement carried support from Boy Scouts and a men’s league.

Word reached this morning that Miss Mary Barclay formerly of Corry died in Butler that evening. Her remains will be taken to Fredonia on Monday for burial.
