The Hope College Choir of Holland Mich will perform at Abbe Reformed Church in Clymer on Thursday April 2 at 8 p.m. under Dr Cavanaugh with choir members Gwynne Bailey and Craig Neckers. Public invited to attend.
The Miss Corry Area Scholarship Pageant scheduled for Saturday April 4 at Corry Area High School has been postponed to Saturday April 11 at 8 PM due to the city fire tragedy. Pageant chairman John Kirch and publicity chairman Jack Nason confirm only the date was changed and the event will be held at the high school.
The Music School at Chautauqua Institution offers a Workshop Seminar for Piano Teachers directed by Ozan Marsh and assisted by Patricia Benkman. The three day session runs Monday through Wednesday noon June 29 30 and July 1. It features new teaching materials and guest lecturers and aims to cover all studio teaching challenges. SYDNEY AP Princess Anne allegedly used the word bloody in public during an outdoor royal event. The Australian reports she exclaimed I cant see in this bloody wind as Queen Elizabeth II and other royals attended. A royal household spokesman dismissed the incident as not characteristic. In Lima Peru beggars earn about 5 dollars daily and mostly refuse offered work including roof ventilation electricity and fire protection tasks.
Corry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary hosts an Easter tribute card party tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the VFW Post Home. Proceeds fund hospital equipment in memory of five firemen who died in Easter Sunday fire. Tickets via Mrs. Loveland, Mrs. Casler, or Mrs. Haight. organizers include Mrs. Dahl and Faith Eastman.
Miss Mary Linda Wunschal daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wunschal of Pittsburgh will marry Leonard Eugene Waldorf son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene R. Waldorf of 954 East South Street. Both students at the University of Pittsburgh. Waldorf a junior in arts and studio fields. Wunschal a sophomore nursing student. No definite wedding date yet.
Washington AP reports two women leaders in the Pentagon criticize military gender barriers. Col Jeanne Holm says top management remains closed to women except in women’s programs, while Dr Hester Turner urges full use of women’s talents and equal opportunity. More than 40,000 women serve across services, often in clerical or medical roles, with persistent job designation awards.
