Shock Kills Wife as Husband Murdered in York
In York Pa a 72 year old man William W Nye died in York Hospital after an attack near his home. His wife Dora B Nye 70 died shortly after from heart failure believed triggered by the shock of her husband's death. Police Lt Gorge Williams and Det O H Gosnell reported Nye was beaten near the old York County poorhouse track before returning home bleeding. Neighbors rushed him to hospital. he fainted and died. The widow's death followed.

Denied County Man New Trial in Erie Court
Erie March 26 Erie county court denied a new trial for Andrew Zuber of McKean who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the March 7 1947 traffic death of Lillian Avery an Erie resident. The case had seen a jury disagreement at the May 1947 term and a September verdict found Zuber guilty. the appeal was rejected by Judges Evans and Laub.

Three mental patients escape from Manhattan hospital
