Five Named to Erie County Housing Authority

Erie County commissioners named five men to the newly formed Erie County Housing Authority. Christopher Capotis leads the slate with a five year term, followed by Evan J. MacEwen four years Marvin J. Schick three years Eugene C. Cross two years and William Arbuckle II one year. The group will consult with County Solicitor Mortimer E. Graham on the authority structure created under the 1937 Housing Authority Law to address unsanitary dwellings and housing shortages for low income residents.

Costs Man 38 For Police Hassle

A Corry man Victor D. Osborne, 41, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after a scuffle during arrest at a West Pleasant Street residence. He was fined 10 dollars, paid 11 dollars in court costs, and made 17 dollars restitution for damage to Sgt. Kenneth Nichols and Officer Richard Farley gear. He was released after payment.

Upper Mississippi braces for record flood heights

Along the upper Mississippi several cities mobilize defenses for a flood possibly matching 1965 levels. Warren man charged with murder in family fire

A Warren County man, Charles O Dooley, 43, is charged with murdering his wife Dolly and two daughters Eva 2 and Rachel 1 in a house fire near Conewango Creek.
