Trial Begins For Forest County Man In Slaying Case
In Kittanning Armstrong County Court twelve jurors and two alternates were chosen to hear the case of Edward C. Silvis 30 of West Hickory charged with the fatal April 1969 shooting of 87 year old Miss Alice N Siggins a former West Hickory School principal. Testimony opened with four witnesses including two state troopers an ex housekeeper and Dr John Rees who pronounced the death. The trial resumed next morning with more witnesses expected including Rev John Swartsinger who brought Silvis after he surrendered.
