Four Jamestown men were duped by a con artist posing as a country dealer with illicit pre‑Volstead liquor. They paid 840 dollars for a suspected shipment, met in Kennedy and later learned of the scam after a sample was given. the buyers retrieved only the sample liquor while losing the full sum. Mrs. John D. Ward returned home from a business trip in Erle.
Washington March 3 United Press reports Lindbergh has invited Congress to fly with him and 81 members and relatives have accepted. In three days 200 to 500 more applications arrived, promising a busy air adventure as airplanes buzz over Washington.
Senator Woodbridge N Ferris of Michigan died in Washington from bronchial pneumonia at 6 00 A M He was 60 His wife was prostrated His body will be buried in Bibs Mapliss Michigan The illness followed a lecture tour and came after he declined doctors orders The death was attended by his wife two sons and several officials and Navy nurses
