County officials discussed housing Japanese prisoners of war at the old Ridge Road county home for labor in canneries and on farms. Officials noted the plan is not finalized, with government officials to decide, and repairs would be needed for occupancy. The idea follows earlier talk of importing labor, though officials stressed it would require American or nonlocal workers initially.
