James Campagna former manager of the Lincoln Market was arrested at his Lake road home by Constable Leon Tiffany on a pure food law violation. He posted $100 bond and will appear Tuesday morning March 26 at the office of Alderman Gordon as part of an ongoing investigation led by W E Hughes of the health department.
The Department of Forests and Waters announces a large tree planting program for Erie County this spring. More than 79,000 seedlings and transplants from state nurseries will be planted by 28 planters in the next weeks, with Union City and Corry Water Supply Company contributing 20,000 and 12,000 trees respectively. Spring planting statewide will exceed eight million trees, mainly to reforest idle farms.
A House military affairs sub committee voted unanimously to report favorably the McSwain air defense bill. It would establish six frontier aviation bases in the Atlantic northeast and southeast, Pacific northwest, Alaska, Rocky Mountain area, and to support general headquarters air force operations.

Stanley Siscoe, president of Siscoe extension mines and director of Siscoe gold mines, left Montreal last Tuesday on an inspection trip. His plane with pilot Thomas Wrathall and two aerial surveyors disappeared after crashing between Montreal and Amos in northern Quebec. Search planes were dispatched by Canadian Airways Limited. Mrs. Siscoe said he planned to stay to inspect a secret development.
About seventy five workers are to be called back Monday to resume city RWD projects after a state funded allotment restored funds. Nearly sixty will work under the school setup on projects at Junior High athletic field Fairview and Junior High schools. Over fifteen will return to the Kingstreet sewer project with a few still finishing current school work to repay wages.
Harrisburg reports the Senate finance committee will study Pennsylvania manufacturing taxes for 1982 and 1983 as it reviews a 203 million tax program. A revenue data request seeks total taxes paid rentals and net income for 1982 83 and 84 plus capital stock values. A public hearing on increasing the gasoline tax to five cents per gallon is also planned.
Federal income tax receipts totaled 270,935,659 in the first 20 days of March, up 33 percent from the prior year. Government revenues for the period reached 483,754,208, down from 548,759,268 a year earlier, with taxes and other revenues seen as potentially breaking monthly records.
Two Corry men were hurt in a morning car crash on East Main Street near the Gi] Creek Refining Company. The vehicle left the pavement, struck a curb and a utility pole, injuring both occupants. Driver sir Mariya stepet and passenger were treated. one was able to return home later.
