One Killed, 15 Injured In Olympia Freight Car Crash
A string of runaway freight cars rolled through downtown Olympia causing a fatality and multiple injuries. One person died and about 15 were hurt as cars demolished two buildings and struck a cafe and other storefronts. Woman Injured In East Main Street Two Car Crash
One woman was hurt when a head on collision on East Main street involved two cars. Mrs Carl Coates was taken to Corry Memorial Hospital with a fractured right ankle. Milton Bailey suffered a forehead laceration and blamed an icy bump. Vehicle damages were listed at 900 dollars for the Coates car and 400 for the Bailey car. Passersby said the street was slippery at the time.
