High School Girls Shot by Boyfriend During Class Incident

Two seventh grade high school girls in an education class were shot by a disenchanted boyfriend, with one seriously wounded and the other treated and released. A warrant was issued for Frank Lane, 17, of Harrisburg, on charges including assault with intent to kill and violations of the firearms act. The incident occurred at Camp Curtin Early Childhood Education Center. both victims were classmates, and Lane was not present at the start.

Senate approves boost to Social Security checks

The Senate, 82-0, adopted an amendment lifting benefits and payroll taxes as part of a debt-limit bill.
