Sparta Autoists Escape After Close Call Accident
In Sparta Borough Pa on a Sunday evening a radius rod failed and sent a car driven by Mr. and Mrs. Neil Peck off the road into a six foot embankment and into a barnyard. The occupants escaped without minor injury and the car was returned to Spartansburg for repairs.

Farm exports show further drop in Jan
The January farm export index fell to 57 from 62 in December and 4 a year ago, with cotton exports at 68 versus 108 last January. January cotton exports totaled 486000 bales, down from 782000 a year earlier, and seven month totals to January 31 stood at 3825000 bales, down from 5925000 a year ago. Wheat and flour exports reached 1310000 bushels in January, with seven month total 14830000 bushels, while imports exceeded exports by 16000 bushels. Prewar levels remained higher for all products. the index figures cover grain and products 17, animal products 88, dairy 69, fruit 189, wheat 14, tobacco 97, hams and bacon 18, lard 45.
