Test hole dug at Gentes school site for foundation planning
Workmen are digging a test hole on the Gentes school property at Warren to determine ground conditions for architects designing the new city building foundations. The hole will be square and ten feet deep. Postmaster Charles Shaw of Waterford was laid up last week from a finger injury caused by a family pet cat but has returned to work. Dr. Larson will see patients Friday and Saturday. Kane Falini and four others were jailed after pleading guilty to car thefts in Warren and Bradford, with admissions of involvement in at least one auto theft. Franklin’s school board will hear bids for ponds to fund the new senior high school construction. the district has issued bonds. Carl Ongspaugh, 40, of Meadville, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Henry C. Wertz was elected president of Crawford County’s Young Democratic Club. The Guaranty Leather Company of New Jersey plans to begin operations in Reynoldsville, employing 80 to 100 people to produce silk fabrics in a mill formerly occupied by Reynoldsville Silk Fabrics.
