Ralph Holden formerly of Corry and Carroll Blake Joy of Jamestown received a four to eight year sentence at Auburn prison after pleading guilty to first degree assault connected to a robbery attempt on a Chinese laundryman. A hatchet was used leaving the victim badly injured and hospitalized for days. The men were indicted by Mayville authorities weeks earlier and sentenced immediately by Judge Ottaway.
Munich March 6 The treason trial of General Ludendorff Adolf Hitler and others collapsed into disruption as defense attorneys clashed with the court. The prosecutor's position shifted but the hearing was adjourned to continue tomorrow amid family challenges and dueling accusations regarding the Beer Hall Putsch and alleged desertion.
An electric dishwasher was installed in the kitchen of the Con Hospital. The machine, a modern model, was donated by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hospital. Cost about $300 installed.
