NBC mini series fate narrows Lew Archer arc

NBC plans to phase out MacDonald based Archer after March first week to focus on Bob Crane show. Brian Keith’s Archer remains a regular as 13 episodes aired. If renewed, producers would relocate to Hawaii due to contract. Fans complain Archer diverges from Ross MacDonald’s mystery mold and plots. The Crane series, initially Second Start, has undergone major changes since the pilot.
