PennDOT Resurfacing Halt Question Sparks Local Clash

PHIA told The Journal that budget cuts force PennDOT to cancel road resurfacing for the rest of the current fiscal year ending June 20 and to avoid resurfacing requisitions in 1976. Erie County official Vincent Kennerknecht said no such orders exist and will raise the matter at a county supervisors meeting. If true, only pothole patching would proceed and planned bridge work and Route 89 south of Route 6 could be scrapped this summer.
