Crawford challenges planning post after dismissal from Erie County panel

Luke Crawford seeks reinstatement to the Erie County Planning Commission after removal on May 7. He also asks for the replacement, John McCarty of Lake City, to be removed. Crawford alleges firing without cause or a hearing. The petition, filed by Robert B. McCullough, claims improper, unwarranted and illegal action. Commission chair William Hill Jr and commissioner Fred Lamberton supported the dismissal. Louis Raymek abstained. The suit says Crawford has faced public ridicule and censure since his removal and that he fulfilled his duties conscientiously. County solicitor John M. McLaughlin will review the complaint, which is due for response within 20 days.
