City opens four playgrounds for summer program
Carry’s playgrounds will open for the summer season Tuesday under a joint effort by the National Youth Administration and the Works Progress Administration. Centers at Washington, Fairview, Cycord, and Junior High will host activities for younger children with registration starting Tuesday morning. A written permit from parents is required. Tombstone Accident Injures Child at Sugar Grove Cemetery
John Sanders, 9, son of Mr and Mrs Hobart M Sanders of Sugar Grove, suffered a fractured skull and head lacerations when a tombstone toppled onto him at Sugar Grove cemetery.
