The Devine Company of Minnesota is awarded a contract to construct a bridge on the route from Pittahuld to Wrightsville. The bid amount is 401,242 dollars, with the company cited as the successful bidder.

The Salvation Army announces that MaeVar Taséell and Wallace Messenger of this city have completed Officers Training College in New York and have been commissioned. Liswt Van Tostell is assigned to Salvation Army work at Norfolk, Virginia and Messenger continues at Rochester, Pennsylvania. Thurston Mason, formerly at Gridley High School in Erie, returned home last evening.
Warren Pa report states Melvin B Evans 40 an employee of Glade Run refinery was killed when a blast occurred at the facility. A second worker suffered serious burns as fire crews from Warren battled the blaze to control the blast site.
A call was issued for a third party convention in Cleveland to unite progressive groups behind Senator Robert M. La Follette for an independent presidential race. W. H. Bennington, longtime Populist leader in Kansas, issued the call for the meeting.

About twenty members of the Emmanuel Guild gathered at Waterford and were entertained at Mrs. Phelps Gillett’s home by St Peter's Guild. The group left the Episcopal Church around 10:30 a.m. A picnic followed and Mr. Charles Springstead hosted the Indies yesterday at East Wayne Street. Plans were made for a trip, with refreshments served. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Wetmore and grandson Manford Stevenson left for a weekend visit to Cambridge Springs. Reverend W. L. Shirer returned today.
City officials announced plans to reduce the extent of grading on West Smith Street from four to six feet, due to funding limits dropping from 2700 to 1700 dollars. Complaints from property owners were said to be being settled rapidly as grading proceeds within the available funds.
