The Tractors for Freedom Committee says the US Cuban prisoner exchange deal is dead after Fidel Castro rejected the terms. Castro demanded 28 million dollars in cash or equivalent and proposed a prisoner delegation, which the committee called ridiculous. The group, led by Walter Reuther Eleanor Roosevelt and Milton Eisenhower, will disband and return 60 000 to 70 000 letters. Castro stated the committee’s offer was only to break off negotiations.

An area search is under way for two would be siding salesmen who slugged and bound Edgar Lambilotte, a 72-year-old Eldred resident, and robbed him of $8000 in cash yesterday.
