Fire destroys Cook Brothers mill at Plates

Firemen battled flames at platea early morning as the Cook Brothers lumber mill and its post office burned. The blaze caused about $75,000 in damage to the mill and $90 in government materials and stamps were destroyed. No cause is yet established. The Plates post office was also ruined in the blaze.

Miners Return to Work Under Peace Agreement
