Pittsburgh district attorney James J. Malone will present the first draft of a presentment to a special grand jury probing charges that state workers were coerced into contributing to Gov. Job & Fine’s primary campaign fund. The jury finished hearings, and Malone claimed the panel is in a mood to indict, as he urged the draft be reviewed before any indictment. ANH ARBOR Mich An Indiana University astronomer announced the discovery of almost 900 new baby planets and the rediscovery of earlier ones. The findings, disclosed at an American Astronomical Society meeting, aim to help compute orbits and reduce potential space travel hazards. The effort seeks to expand the known tally of small celestial bodies to around 1400.

A tomcat was electrocuted after leaping onto a hot line at the REA Co operative main sub station. The outage affected rural homes from Carter Ul to Teepleville in Crawford County. William Wenner of the ABA said service was restored about 4 a.m after crews located the fault. A resident reported seeing the cat still on the wires and workers returned to remove it.
