North Corry witnessed an automobile crash about 8:16 last night at Center street and East Columbus Avenue. Two cars collided, four people escaped with minor injuries. Vehicles driven by Y McClintock of R. D. 4 and Frank Zot Jr of Austin Pa were involved. McClintock’s car struck a telephone pole and was severely damaged. Zot’s car incurred minor damage. Zot’s party included his father and sister Frances. the sister suffered shock and injuries. A settlement for damages was reported as reached between the parties.
Mise Getun Catton of Columbus has received a five state service appointment in Harrisburg. Mise Carroll will leave next Wednesday to assume duties as a state department typist. The Columbus Democratic Club helped secure the appointment. well known in Columbus and Corry, friends offer best wishes.
Paris June 22 British and French arms talks ended with no mutual basis due to French resentment over a British German arms accord. Capt Anthony Eden and Premier Laval concluded that France would not commit without Italy’s say so. Eden hailed negotiations as satisfactory though France warned against new security commitments without Rome’s input. The British conveyed a preference to avoid binding naval limits with Germany while seeking aviation and limited armaments accords.

New York June 22 In a personal opinion regarded as authoritative Canonist Rev Edward W Dargin of the New York archdiocese says Rev Charles Coughlin violated Canon law He writes in the July issue of the Ancalescical Review He notes Bishop Michael Gallagher of Detroit has the right and duty to forbid political activity by ecclesiastics and suggests Coughlin could be punished under church canons for his political speeches and related organization
WARRISBURG June 22 Conferees on the beer and liquor bills approved a conference report removing three contentious issues from the measures. The report, expected to be accepted by both houses, struck from the liquor bill a provision about outside distilleries and the $1 4 gallon price difference. Package beer sales to groceries and similar shops were denied, and references to club licensees and operating hours were removed.
Corry residents will pay city school state and county taxes to the city treasurer under the Parks bill signed by Governor George H Bale.
