Erie Lighting Company Plans Expansion and New Turbine
June 21 Erie Lighting Co announced a $3.5 million expansion to add a 25 000 kilowatt turbine, doubling plant capacity. An order for the turbine, about $1 million, was placed with General Electric Co. Expansion stems from rising demand from defense product manufacture, according to general manager Mr Kirsch. Exact scope of the extension has not yet been decided.

Supplee Wills Head Dies After Car Crash
Supplee Wills Head A. Wills, 70, chairman of the board of Supplee Wills Jones Dairy Co. of Philadelphia, died in St. Joseph's Hospital Lancaster three days after an automobile crash in Lancaster. He was fatally injured when he was run down in the city. He had served as a director for many years and helped guide the dairy firm through postwar growth. He leaves a widow and several children. The accident occurred as he was crossing a street near the dairy plant.
