Hillig and Houris Plan Atlantic Hop Start Monday

St John New Brunswick June 20 Otto Hillig and Helgar Houris fliers en route to Copenhagen stopped here after a calm flight from Lloyd Bennett Pield Brooklyn. They landed in their Liberty plane at the municipal airport about 5:30 p m greeted by a boy guide Ray McMurray. They planned to leave tomorrow for Harbor Grace Newfoundland where the North Atlantic crossing will begin Monday.

Uniform labor standards urged by interstate conference

Harrisburg June 20. The interstate conference on uniform labor tion urged definite standards for employment of women and minors, health, state agencies, and workmen's compensation. Recommendations favor excluding long hours for youth, limiting night work, and expanding compensation to occupational diseases with basic weekly rates of 10 to 20 dollars.

The Journal reports major shifts in the Helloye division as the Pennsylvania Railroad abandons terminal facilities at Kane Ridgway Impurum and Warren. Texas Pastor Admits Lynch Hoax Story Revealed

Rev B P Brown, a 36 year old Texas Baptist minister, confessed to his congregation that his tale of four men lynching him was a hoax. He said he intended to kill himself and could not finish, describing how he tied his mouth and staged the hanging in the pulpit to capture attention.

Lund hearing postponed in Crawford County case

In Meadville Pennsylvania a habeas corpus hearing for attorney C Harrison Lund of Erie was postponed by agreement of counsel to Saturday June 27. Lund seeks release from Crawford County Sheriff J L Thomas custody tied to arson charges over a barn fire in Summerhill township with four others detained. Lund’s bond in Crawford County continues while his hold is forfeited until next week’s hearing.

Fire destroyed the Miller farm house at Riley's Crossing two miles west of Elgin shortly before 10 last evening. The recently bought farm is owned by a section hand whose name is not given. The newly painted remodeled dwelling burned completely with about 2000 loss, partly covered by insurance.

London reports say Britain may reduce Germany’s reparations to England if the United States signals approval. Organization of the Pennsylvania State Grand Council of Past Grands was perfected at a meeting of representatives from Warren Erie Crawford and Venango County Councils in Oil City last night. Plan Semi Annual Inspection Of Cars In Pa

The annual motor vehicle inspection in Pennsylvania will be changed to a semi annual system launched January 1. Vehicle owners have three months to inspect, followed by three months of enforcement. A second period runs July to September with enforcement October to year end. Officials hope fewer accidents, noting a 2 percent rise in fatalities from last year.
