Miss Rowena Margaret Reagle and Joel Wesley Lloyd wed in a candlelight ceremony at Evangelical United Brethren Church. The bride wore white satin with lace, and the couple plans to reside in West Chester Pennsylvania after a Cape Cod honeymoon. Joyce son of Mr and Mrs Larry Joyce received his degree from Pennsylvania State University at State College. He joined Harbison-Walker Refractories in Pittsburgh as a metallurgist. A Navy Mothers Club gathering in Jamestown featured a Swiss steak dinner, games and prizes with Flag Day themed decor. An open house in Columbus welcomed Mr and Mrs Jack vanWingerden and son Gerrit Paul visiting from Long Beach California.
Mrs. Mary Morton of K D 2 entertained Plank Road Club members with Vice President Mrs. Murray Ray in charge of business. Plans for a picnic at Mead Park were made, James Kensinger gave a talk on Japanese flower arranging, and a salad lunch was served. Special award went to Mrs. Cecil Miller. Thirty-one attended including Ruth Chelton Steeley and family and three month old Michael Lindstrom. Oscar Johnson read an original poem in memory of Grace Jewell Thomson.
The 10th annual baccalaureate for Corry Area School graduates from St Thomas the Apostle and Elizabeth's Church was held at St Thomas Church with breakfast at St Edward's School auditorium. Fifty two seniors were honored as Rev Cyril Cooper and Rev Leon Doleski spoke along with Russell Brant and Mrs George Orcutt. Attendees included Louis Hanna Victor Cragg Jr ee Farrer Ma cy John Bisley vara Machado and the Sisters of Mercy with Mrs James Hammond as general chairman.
At St Edward School auditorium the St Thomas Women’s Organization elected officers for the coming season. President Mrs Michael Comitz, first vice president Mrs Thomas An, secretary Miss Anna Shields, and treasurer Mrs Frederick Abl were announced. Outgoing president Mrs Paul Roche received a gift.
Carter Hill Community Aid honored Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Moore at a farewell dinner with 25 in attendance. A $10 gift was presented, speeches given, and Mrs. Glenn Davis led the session and organ music.
