St Thomas parish forum sets peach social plans
St Thomas parish and St Thomas Women's Organization will meet at St Thomas School tomorrow at 8 PM to plan a peach social on August 1. Mrs James Maloney and Mrs Gilbert Rowland will chair the event alongside the guest, Telephone Company, at the session. Loren C Stockton of Columbus recently earned a BA from Hobart College, with athletics and Greek life noted. he is the son and grandson of local residents. The Corry Area Historical Society hosts a dinner meeting at Nichols Lodge Mead Park, followed by a tour of the Corry Area Historical Museum. The Brokenstraw Singers begin a tour across the Eastern U S with performances in churches and camps, ending in Daytona Beach Florida, with a large cast and many chaperones. A 25th anniversary party for Mr and Mrs Murray Raymond features a pink theme, multiple cakes, gifts, and a guest list from local towns and beyond. A Bonn Germany survey finds 24 percent feel they eat too much and worry about nutrition.

Girl Scout Event Highlights Local Troop 299 Ceremony
Therese Zaphiris and committee chose yellow Trefoil invitations for a Junior Girl Scout Troop 299 event at St Thomas School auditorium. Mothers and church leaders attended with Brownie fly-ups, and décor featured green and yellow flowers, horseshoe tables, plus centerpieces from local florists. Volunteers handled food, beverages, and entertainment as badge awards and farewells recognized many participants.
