Louis Erdel, 40, of Taylor Township near Detroit, escaped serious injury after his truck blew a front tire, crossed the median, and injured his children in the collision.
Fidel Castro says he will receive a four man U S bargaining team to negotiate swapping 1200 Cuban rebels for 500 tractors and may trade rebels for political prisoners held by the United States Puerto Rico Nicaragua and Guatemala. He notes the team must have full power to discuss indemnification and equipment terms.

Roadside tragedy stirred local concern as investigators hunted for a motive and suspect.
