Thousands Skip Free Polio Vaccine at Erie Clinic
Erie officials reported a low turnout for a free polio vaccination drive with only 1,600 people seeking shots yesterday. Dr James Groovy, head of the County Health Department, blamed poor publicity but noted no questions were asked of attendees. The program targeted preschool children and those aged 40 to 40, with about 25,000 residents still unvaccinated.
