Former Corry family escapes burning home

Ann and Mrs. Manik Betts and four children, formerly of Corry, fled a Sugar Grove residence blaze about 2 amid the night. The house was completely destroyed, with only a few belongings saved as the parents and siblings fled. One child briefly returned to the flames causing anxiety before being helped to safety.

Two Prominent Men Sought in Girl’s Murder Case

Nassau County District Attorney Elvin N Edwards announced he knew the names of two men suspected in the death of Miss Faithfull a 25 year old New York chemical magnate's daughter. Dunkirk Mayor Alexander Dies After Highway Crash

A high speed crash near Dunkirk on the Lie road east of the city killed Mayor Alexander and injured two Cleveland youths, Asiply Foster and Harold Baxter. The mayor died about fifteen minutes after the wreck at Brooks Memorial Hospital.
