Pennsylvania Senate votes to cut drinking age to nineteen

In Harrisburg the State Senate approved a measure to lower Pennsylvania's legal drinking age from 21 to 19 by a 27 to 21 vote. Corry merchants launch the I Believe in Corry promotion also called IBIC to boost civic pride and position Corry as a desirable place to shop live and visit. The plan includes a summer farmers market free downtown parking a street festival heavy advertising posters banners and retailer support with a 11 week campaign starting June 24. Contributions from retailers fund the promotion with public details and pledges via the Chamber of Commerce office.

103rd Corry Area High School Alumni Event Planned Saturday

The 103rd Corry Area High School alumni celebration will be held this Saturday at the high school with a social tour at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 in the gym. The annual meeting will be in the auditorium, followed by a dance in the cafeteria with the George Fawcett Trio. Tickets are $5 and available at Grice Jewelers and Powell Loan Co.

States May Lose Medicaid Funds Over Nursing Home Reviews

Retirees Study Shows Trust Gap Between Whites and Minorities

An Akron survey of 105 retirees in the Akron Cleveland Youngstown area found whites more trusting, with 67 percent saying most people can be trusted versus 62 percent of minorities. Among goals, 71 percent of whites preferred to be well liked, while minorities showed different prioritites. over 69 percent of minorities had no retirement plans.
