G Allen Hancock, Los Angeles businessman who financed the Pacific venture, relinquished all claims to the craft and presented the gift as a token of friendship.
Asa Hall of Mexico Missouri arrives in Union City during a cross country roller skate journey from Kansas City to New York City. He plans to reach New York by September 1 and will perform exhibitions on Center Street while weather permits. Hall has walked about four hundred miles, worn out three wheel sets, and funds his trip through donations and novelties.

Miss Mabel Berry daughter of Mr and Mrs Michael Berry of West Pleasant Street completed a twelve year course without any absence or tardiness. She was a member of the 1928 graduating class and finished at the Senior High School Wednesday evening after attending Fairview Grade School.

About 200 people were indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh in a sweeping rum conspiracy case. The blanket indictment named 167 individuals on conspiracy charges under the prohibition law, with additional indictments bringing the total to roughly 200. Named figures include city officials, police, and political leaders, reflecting a broad scope of alleged involvement. The investigation, led by Prohibition Administrator John D. Pennington and U S Attorney John D. Meyer, followed testimonies from around 1,500 witnesses as the case targets a long running network.
The lifeless body of Edward Web ber, 63, was found hanging in a barn on his Pred Obert farm near Spartanshun Hutch Tow. His wife discovered him Friday morning. Deputy Coroner H. L. Bowen led an inquest with a jury and ruled death by his own action. Webiber, formerly in Giymer, survived by his widow, two daughters, and two sons living at home, plus another daughter in Jamestown.

The message gave coordinates 80 80 north and 48 east near Foynoys Islands prompting a Norwegian relief expedition to move into the area immediately.
Rev Wesley Adams of the Advent Christian church leaves Seattle to attend the Kiwanis International convention from June 17 to 21. Delegates from every state and many foreign countries will gather for the Pacific coast talks and leadership events. He plans to visit California after the convention.
June 9 news from Naval Port BT reports Lieutenant Homer Wilkinson of Norfolk killed when a Navy seaplane went into a tailspin and crashed at Capetown. Seaman Harry Ei. Rilker was seriously injured. Lt Wilton, aboard the U S Concord, arrived with a destroyer squadron and was testing a new seaplane.
