Police increased security after weekend riots in Humboldt Park left two men dead and more than 190 injured. Shawn Smith age 11 of F.D. 4 Union City treated for abrasions to the right shoulder back arm and leg and released. A 15-year-old girl was admitted for a fractured toe and finger. Lucia Cubara of R.D. 4 Corry fell from stairs and is in satisfactory condition.
Two pregnant women freed by South Moluccan militants said the other 53 hostages on the Groningen train were in good condition despite psychological pressure. The ministers and doctors noted continued tension as negotiations stalled and no breakthrough was seen after mediation meetings.
