Erie Man Personal Crisis Reported at Saegertown

An Erie man, Frank Sehute Mimer, a well known Betjow and cocerman, faced a personal crisis at the Inn in Saegertown. Four daughters were reported as survivors and the man was found dead by the inn staff after a gunshot wound. Anniversary of Great Flood Devastation Hits Northwestern PA

The twenty third anniversary recalls the great flood that struck Northwestern Pennsylvania, especially Titusville and Oil City, with more than a hundred lives lost and about a million and a half dollars in property destroyed. The Corry Daily reports a vivid scene of flooding on June 6 1999 describing streets flooded to several feet, drifting debris, and damaged businesses along First and Main avenues, the depot hotel and Phoenix hotel basements, and evacuations as water rose through Spring Street toward the railroad yards.

Dropped Dead This Afternoon in City

M. A. Foster aged about seventy died this afternoon in the city from natural causes. He arrived this morning from his home at Olay to visit friends at the Cady house corner First Avenue and Charen Street. Death followed an illness of many years. Yr Kibler was summoned but pronounced him dead. Survived by two sons, three daughters, and two nephews Arthur and William Foster of Foster Nos Grocery. Brother Fitch Powter of West Wayne Street. Body moved to undertaker Alexander and interment to be arranged.
