Corry Elks Host Large Lodge Initiation and Banquet

Chevy Lodge 760 welcomed Meadvile Lodge 219 officers and about sixty members for an initiation at the Elks Home on North Center Street. The degree work led by Jno Wilson and others impressed attendees while a banquet for 210 followed in the dining room with Victrola music and a formal menu.

Graduation Week Set for 1915 Class Activities

Graduation week will be busy with the Class of 1915 at the High School Auditorium. Baccalaureate Sunday evening will be delivered by Pastor Wallace of the Baptist church and the Ministerial Association of the city will sponsor the service. Commencement is planned for next Wednesday evening with the largest graduating class in school history. Class Day and a play by the seniors will precede the event, and alumnae events are planned as part of the festivities. A large attendance from distant areas is expected for the ceremonies.

American Acquitted in Espionage Case at Paria

Paria reports Raymond Swoboda, a presumed U.S. resident from San Francisco, is found not guilty of espionage by French military authorities. He is declared innocent of the charge stemming from alleged contact with German agents while aboard a vessel from Vinita Station. He is expected to gain freedom once authorities confirm the lack of evidence and association with German authorities.

More Trains On The Erie R R Between Meadvile And Corry

Meadvile reports added service on June 20 with regular oil trains on the Franklin branch of the Erie. An excursion train will run from Meadvile to Corry and Jamestown every other Sunday. Alternating Sundays a direct excursion will run from Youngstown to Jamestown and return, with return trips from Jamestown about seven o clock in the evening.

District Chief Transferred from Hell Tempions Company

S B Williams district chief of the Hell Tempions Company based in Hila has been promoted to a position in Philadelphia. Erle takes over on June 11th with R C Kennedy from New York state assisting in the transition. The move is noted as widely known in the city and surrounding territory.
