A Reuters field dispatch reports that Ali Lankanla named seven ministers for a provisional Saltillo regime allied with Carranza learning that two portfolios Agriculture and Public Instruction remain undecided. Volcano wipes out village on Sangult island

A volcanic eruption on Sangult Island, a Dutch possession about 150 miles south of Mindapo, Manilla, Philippines, reportedly wiped out a village. No damage total estimate available. the island is a mass of volcanoes generally considered extinct.

Pocketbook Recovered At Depot After Loss

A traveler left a pocketbook containing 8.75 and a water duct chain on a seat at Dawsen ger station. It was recovered untouched by R. Oleer Cleveland, after police telegraphed the finder. A trespasser was arrested yesterday and faces twenty days in county jail. Dr. Cleveland had previously arrested three coal thieves near Dunkirk.

Iceman Arrested for Larceny in Corryce Co. Property Case

Yesterday morning H B Love swore out a search warrant before Alderman Barker alleging T A Shatinan possessed tools and imp proved by the Corryce Company. With J C Smith the second ward constable inspected the Shannon Nema premises and recovered four items identified as Corryce Co. property a tin tool cleaver and a pair of tonga. Shan non was arrested and brought before the alderman on a larceny charge. the case was settled as the defendant paid costs and prosecutors fees.

Humane Society Meeting Sees Elections and Reports

At the Corry Humane Society meeting held Wednesday evening 800 of the public schooly was elected treasurer to fill the vacancy left by the death of Prof. Curtis. The society mourns Mr. Carl and notes 26 children and 77 animals investigated in the past month. Humane Officer G. K. Carl is praised for prompt work and donations have grown. Humane Day is observed on April 21 in Massachusetts and several states. Ella Page Bracken Secretary.

Progress on New Houses in the City

Weather has boosted construction with several new homes moving toward completion. Ray Edson’s North Center street row house nears exterior finish, Oscar Trice’s corner Irving and Center lot lags behind, W G Murray’s West Congress dwelling advances, and the Gumbinsler house on West Congress may begin soon. Edwards home foundations on Concord Street are set, with three rows of material arriving. Post office work slows due to steel delivery delays.

New Pump Unloaded for Water Co at Corry Station

A large three million gallon pump for Corry Water Supply Company’s North Corry station has been unloaded and installed. The foundations and power house additions are complete and the new steam pump, arrived last week, will boost daily capacity to over four million gallons. Despite early foundation challenges, including driving a jet of pipe with water pressure, the project is now finished and experts will begin erecting the pump next week with commissioning expected within two to three weeks.
