Erie Congressman Joseph P. Vigorito urged the Army Corps of Engineers to detail potential water pollution and recreational impacts from Sun Oil Company of Pittsburgh plans to build a new mooring pile in Lake Erie near Arbor Eaton Township. He questioned oil seepage history at existing piles and asked if a third pile would threaten Shades Beach and Orchard Beach as the Corps envisages a small boat harbor and recreation area at Orchard Beach.
