Stockholders learned at yesterday's annual meeting that for the year ending April 30 the company posted a net income after expenses of 85,948,448. Gross operating revenues were 120,072,404, a gain of 7,875,018, and the ret increase totaled 2,538,062.
Erie June 3 An elderly Union City man, Logan J Dyke, at 95, visits Erie County Treasurer Rayoh Bo McGord at the courthouse. Dyke, Civil War veteran who served as county treasurer 67 years ago, recalls officials from his era and credits his longevity to exercise and light eating. He says he walks two miles each morning and one in the afternoon and winters in Florida.
In Mercer Pa this afternoon a wedding planned for Erie was halted when an auto collision occurred in town. Driver Joseph Mecklin of Detroit and Joseph Mariacher of Pardoe were involved. passengers Nettie Meckulin and Clara Mariacher were injured while others escaped unharmed.
The board named two new instructors for the 1937 38 public schools. Carlson V. Chaffee of Le Raysville Va was appointed history and music teacher at Senior High at 1800 salary. Lewis Berendt of Rochester was named electrical supervisor and drafting teacher for vocational education at 1600 salary pending certification. Both were approved unanimously on recommendations by Roscoe J Dearing, chairman of the instruction committee.
A Tri County Council of American Legion Auxiliaries meeting in North East Pa featured Corry representation by Mrs Lloyd Stowe Mrs V B Orn and Mrs Mary Murray Sally Homer Greenville State membership chairman was guest speaker and Mrs Katherine Denniston of Slippery Rock gave remarks A luncheon followed at the Lutheran church New officers elected were Mrs Boge Giuliante Erie president Mrs Harold Zerbe Franklin secretary treasurer and Mrs Mary Murray Corry sergeant at arms The next meeting will be on September ? at Ol City
Wayne Lillie a 12 year old of Spring Creek was hit while riding a bicycle by a car driven by Mr Meehan of First Avenue Corry near ng Creek. He was admitted to Corry Hospital with head burns and body bruises. the accident occurred at 6 20 p m.
An unidentified woman about 19 or 20 years old jumped from the steamship Greater Detroit at the foot of Main Street in Bupnald as it left for Detroit. The 75 foot yacht Silver Heel recovered the body. She weighed about 140 pounds with black hair brown eyes and wore a white coat brown stockings and a gold chain glasses dangling.
The bride wore a high neck gown with waist fullness, Tepe covered buttons, wrist gloves, and blue Wallis color accessories. She paired Tepe heels and open work sandals in Wallis blue, with a blue straw skull cap hat by Caroline Reboux featuring a halo brim of blue tulle and an ostrich feather bandeau.
